Pastor Carter is a man who is profoundly committed to the Lord. His obedience to the Holy Spirit led him to become the 14th pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Morristown, New Jersey in November of 1990. Since then, hundreds of men, women, and children have been drawn into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His astounding ability to preach and teach has cultivated spiritual maturity within the congregation.
Pastor Carter is a man with a vision. This vision continues to illuminate through his words and works at Calvary and beyond those walls into the community. His ultimate goal as Pastor is to equip all the saints to carry out the work of Jesus Christ. During his tenure at Calvary he has faithfully imparted an annual spiritual theme that provides the focal point of the congregation's united efforts throughout the year. The 2008 theme is Trusting God To Do A New Thing, which is based upon Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I will do a new thing!”
He is married to Melisa Rooks Carter, a loving union which has been blessed with three beautiful children.
